All Things Bridal
There are so many different bridal stores around town, and we've been to almost all of them. With different styles, price points, designers and collections it is too hard for us to recommend just one for the basic bride. But what we can recommend is where to get your accessories - Blush Bridal Lounge! This cute house-turned-bridal lounge is full of interesting belts, hair pieces, garters, jewelry, you name it.
Another thing that can be hard to pin down in one store visit is the (dreaded) bridesmaids dress. We found that Signature Bridal has a great selection. Everything from crazy (seriously, check them out) to sophisticated, short or long, they are a great one-stop shop when trying to find a style and color.
Hair & Makeup
Adrienne with Makeup by Adrienne did both our wedding faces - she's amazing! She totally achieves the natural look but still giving you complete coverage that can last through the teariest ceremonies.
Have y'all heard of the blow-dry bars popping up all over the country? Well Blo opened recently in Austin, and it's a great, inexpensive way to get a nice shampoo and style for a wedding. We don't recommend trying to come out with an updo, stick to what they do best and go for a blow dry and glass of champers. It's great for guests and bridesmaids alike.
Other Beauty Services
Imagine the perfect place to get a mani/pedi... it's pink with crystal chandeliers, you are wrapped in a warm scented neck wrap, enjoying a mimosa and some chocolate, watching a chick flick.. all while being lacquered up. This place exists, and it's called Embellish Nails and Boutique. It's great for a day of pampering, or a private bridesmaids-only event. And it's inexpensive! But book soon, they quickly fill up.
Who says the girls get to have all the fun. Have the guys get a fresh clean shave at The Good Life Barber Shop. There they can get a straight razor shave and neck/shoulder massage while hanging out playing pool and enjoying some beverages.
After all this beautifying, you're going to want some great pictures! We both used Austin photography team Stacy and Stan Cross for our engagement and wedding photos. We were so thrilled to find these two, a truly amazing husband/wife team.

Choosing flowers for your wedding can be a task so overwhelming it deserves it's own post (hmm, we'll keep this in mind!). Which kinds of flowers? Colors? Are they in season? Tall arrangements or short? The list goes on. What really helps every bride navigate through this often unfamiliar terrain is a great florist. Leah was lucky to stumble upon LisaLyn Designs for her wedding. These ladies are gifted in a way we could only dream of, and were a huge help in figuring out something we didn't know that much about. Their work, quality and professionalism was amazing and had us passing their name along to all our friends. See for yourself!
If you have some room left in your wedding budget, we both think linens are a great way to tie in all your decor and add some pop to your reception. We both used Marquee Event Group. They have beautiful custom linens available for rent, along with napkins, chair ties, chargers and other fun tabletop decor. As luck would have it, they also run a half off sale every February so this fun addition to your wedding decor isn't all that expensive.
We would love to hear about what made your wedding special, who were your favorite vendors?
