Hello readers of Sweet & Sour Showers! I'm Beth from Shenanigans of a Southern Redhead. I was thrilled that Leah and Jac asked me to do a guest post for them today. I'm not even close to the talented party planners they are, but I love to throw a good shindig.
A few weeks ago, I helped host a Baby Sprinkle for one of my best friends who is having her second child at the end of March.
What's a Baby Sprinkle you ask? Well, it's similar to a Baby Shower but sometimes when you're on the second child you may not need the big "essentials" like a high chair, stroller, car seat, etc. In this case, the couple already has a 2 year old boy and now they are welcoming a little girl. We decided to "sprinkle" the parents with girly things like dresses, bows, and other cute frilly frocks.
We ordered the invites from Scriptiva Paper on Etsy and all decor items were from Party City.
This was probably the easiest shower I've ever thrown. We decided to have small desserts like cupcakes and cookies. We also provided a hot dip for those that may not be craving sweets. And to keep with the "girly" theme the drink of choice was what else, but pink lemonade.
With other baby showers I've hosted, I like to keep the colors similar to that of the nursery. Emery's nursey is aqua and pink so we added a few aqua touches to the overall pink decor as well.
Emery definitely racked up on lots of cute goodies.
We had a great time throwing this "sprinkle" for our friend.
Thanks, Beth! We're so excited to have you taking over our blog today and love all the pink and aqua decor.
Have you ever thrown a sprinkle? What have you done for friends who are having their second baby?
